It’s amazing how the best meals always come out of desperation! I made this Baked Orange Sesame Chicken when the cupboard and the refrigerator were very low in supplies! (That happens a lot, here!) It’s funny, I was envious when I heard that my mom had ordered Chinese for dinner. That’s until…we made our own little Chinese Dinner. This is so much better than the take out! …So much better, and much, much healthier! Here’s the recipe:

You’ll Need:

  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 4 boneless, and skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 T of all purpose flour
  • 3 T of sesame seeds
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/4 t of pepper
  • Large zip-lock bag
  • 1 T of unsalted butter, melted

Now, here we go!:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  • Using a shallow dish that will fit all of your chicken breasts, add the soy sauce and orange juice
  • Coat your chicken breasts on both sides, and leaving the chicken to soak up some more juices, set this aside
  • Make your flour coating by, grabbing a large zip-lock back, combine the flour, sesame seeds, salt, and pepper
  • Baked Orange Sesame Chicken
  • Use tongs to pick the chicken up. Shake off excess sauce. Place chicken breasts in bag and shake to coat
  • Use a baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray
  • Baked Orange Sesame Chicken
  • Arrange the chicken in the baking dish
  • Drizzle the margarine over the chicken breasts
  • Baked Orange Sesame Chicken
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until juices in chicken breasts run clear
