“No Roll” One Crust Flaky Pie Crust

"No Roll" Flakey Pie Crust Recipe! No messes, just simple, easy and delicious pie crust. I love this!

Woo Hoo! Hurray for shortcuts! As much as I cook, bake, and create in the kitchen…on a day like The Fourth of July, you won’t find me in Betty Crocker mode, with everything prepared in the refrigerator. Nope, you’ll find me scrambling to find clean patriotic clothes for the kids. Because there’s no time for me to take a well needed shower, I’ll be looking for something not wrinkled or stained of my own to throw on! You’ll find me frantically running to the basement to grab some plastic bags for parade candy! Then…finally, wishing I had planned better, I’ll be staring at the refrigerator, wondering what I can whip up for the picnic at the very last minute that looks like I was in Betty Crocker mode!

Cherry pies are not usually a last minute project, y’all. The crust itself is a daunting task! Pitting all of the cherries you’ve picked is another time muncher. But, I had shortcuts! I gave all of the kids the task of pitting 20 cherries each without…oh my goodness, staining the patriotic clothes I just found! They loved it! My hubby had to pitch in too while I made the most simple of all pie crusts ever known to man! Well, ok…at least, ever known to me! You make this crust in the pan! In the pan, y’all! In the pan!!!!!!!!!

You might be saying to yourself, “but, cherry pies need 2 crusts!” Yep, they do. I like to keep you on your toes! No problem. I made another one of these guys in the bowl, and rolled it out between wax paper in a matter of a minute. This is really full proof, easy! I’ll share the cherry pie recipe sometime this week. It was so goo-ood! Make sure you sign up for my newsletter so you get the memo that it’s here!

You just press this dough out to the edges, and done! It’s that simple. For a fancy look – Push the dough out on top of the edge, and press down with the flat part of a fork going all of the way around.
