- Acrylic Paint for skin – You might need to mix two colors together to make a shade that you think resembles the skin color you are going for
- Googly Eyes – I found some cute googly eyes with eyelashes for the painted rocks on Amazon, and I also used plain googly eyes
- Yarn or cross-stitch floss for the hair – Get some to match your children’s hair color and dad’s hair color
- Glue – I used a tacky glue that dries quickly to glue the hair and eyes
- Marker – This will be used to make facial features like a smile or rosy cheeks

Set newspaper or something else to protect your work surface
Pick out rocks to paint. Pick out one to make dad and one for each child in the family
Mix paint colors to match your family’s skin tone and paint your rocks with that color
Let those dry. You can use a hair dryer to speed up drying time
Cut the yarn to make the hair. and glue that to the rocks
For the dad’s hair, I made a part in the hair by adding looped yarn going one way and then looped yarn going another way
