Materials You’ll Need:
- A painted brown styrofoam ball for the body – around 4 inches
- A painted brown styrofoam half ball for the head – around 2 inches
- A toothpick – This will be used to connect the head and the body of the turkey.
- Googly eyes – small googly eyes are perfect for this craft project
- An orange paper beak – I used craft paper, but you can use construction paper or cardstock to make a little beak for this cute turkey craft
- A 1-inch piece of red felt. You can also use a red pipe cleaner and bend it around the turkey beak.
- Craft Glue – I like to use Beacon craft glue because it is super tacky and dries clear
- Pencil or other similar utensil – This will be used to make holes in the Styrofoam for holding the crayons
- Crayons – I have used four and five. This time I used only four. It is completely up to you on how many feathers you want in your turkey craft

How to Make a Styrofoam Turkey Craft
- Cut off a straight edge from your larger brown foam ball so it will sit level on the table
- Place a toothpick into the ball toward the top/center for your neck
- Place the smaller brown half-ball onto the neck/toothpick
- Make an orange beak by cutting a diamond shape from orange paper.
- Decorate the smaller ball with googly eyes, the orange paper beak, and the red felt shaped into a waddle.
- Decide where you would like your feathers/crayons to go – make 4-5 holes by pushing a pencil into the spots you’ve chosen – you can make the holes a little larger by just circling the pencil around
- Place 4-5 pieces of crayons into the holes for feathers
Expert Tip
Use a paint sponge brush and acrylic paint to paint the styrofoam balls. Dab the paint onto the Styrofoam.
