What You’ll Love about this Turkey Dessert

  • It is easy to make
  • Kids, teens, and adults will love this Thanksgiving turkey dessert
  • It is made with simple ingredients

Ingredients for this Turkey Shaped Dessert

For each turkey treat

  • waffle bowl
  • large cookie – about 4 inches wide
  • chocolate ice cream
  • chocolate-covered sunflower seed
  • M&M or Reese’s Pieces
  • candy eyes

How to Make an Ice Cream Turkey

Set your large cookie in a vertical position at the back of the waffle bowl

Place one large scoop of chocolate ice cream in the bottom of the waffle bowl, in front of your cookie

Add a smaller scoop on top

If the chocolate is melting, place the waffle bowl in the freezer for about 15 minutes so the ice cream can harden again.

Add two candy eyes to the top scoop.

Place the orange M&M sideways between and below the two eyes as the turkey’s beak

Place three red chocolate-covered sunflower seeds, pointed side down at the top center of the top scoop of the ice cream – going back to the back of the scoop as the turkey’s snood and one nest to the M&M beak as the wattle

Variation

Have the ice cream ready to decorate. Place ice cream scoops in the waffle bowl and freeze them. Have the candy pieces ready to go onto the turkey. Let the kids decorate it as a food craft.

You could even have a decorating contest. Just have one assembled for a display for inspiration.

Use fall-colored cookie icing to make colored feathers on the cookie

Use candy corn for the beak
