Banana Bread Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 & 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3/4 cup of buttermilk ( if you don’t have buttermilk – add a little lemon juice to your milk and let sit for 5 minutes – Voila’ Buttermilk!)
  • 2 overly ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of soda

Cream Cheese Topping

  • 2 (8 oz). Bars of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp of orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 13 x 9 pan
  2. In a large mixing bowl – Cream the butter and sugar together
  3. Add the eggs milk, bananas, sour cream, & vanilla
  4. Add flour, salt and soda
  5. Pour into your prepared pan
  6. Bake for 30 minutes. Take out and allow to cool down
  7. While that’s cooling mix the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and orange juice
  8. Spread onto the banana bread
  9. Cut into bars
  10. Enjoy!
