Carrot Shaped Blonde Brownies {A Fun Easter Treat for Kids} | Kid Friendly Things To Do

Make these adorable Blonde Brownie Carrots for a fun spring or summer snack. They are perfect for your Easter table.

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 cups of packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter – cooled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2&1/2 – 3 tsp. of liquid orange food coloring – or an amount that gives you the color of orange that you like
  • green frosting
  • piping bag with a star tip attached
  • Other Equipment Needed
  • large mixing bowl
  • non-stick aluminum foil
  • 9 inch round pie pan
  • Serrated bread knife

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. In mixing bowl, Mix the flour, sugar and baking powder
  3. In another bowl mix the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla and orange food coloring
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry and mix well
  5. Mix the wet ingredients together
  6. The mixture will be like a play dough consistency
  7. Line pie plate with foil – non-stick side facing up
  8. Pour the mixture into the pie pan and press it out to even it out at the top
  9. Bake for about 40-50 minutes.
  10. When are they done?
  11. These brownies are thick, so they take a bit longer to bake. Once you start to smell the aroma of your brownies, check on them. A toothpick inserted into the middle should come out mostly clean. What I mean by that is; you shouldn’t have a wet batter on the toothpick. You will probably find cooked batter will adhere to the toothpick and that’s ok

  1. Let the brownies cool completely – about 15 minutes
  2. Pull the aluminum foil up and out of the pie pan
  3. Push the aluminum foil down away from the brownies
  4. Slice into 16-20 slices (Cut them like pie slices starting with 4 slices and continuing to divide the slices in half until they are skinny like a carrot would be)
  5. Using the star tip, decorate the top with your green frosting stars to resemble the leaves of a carrot

Storing your Blonde Brownies…

  1. These treats are best if served within a day
  2. You can cover and store leftover brownies at room temperature up to one week.

Check on the brownies after about 30 minutes. If they are getting brown at the ends cover them with aluminum foil for the rest of the baking period.
