Ingredients

  • 16 wooden skewers soaked in water
  • 2 lb. block of Colby Jack Cheese
  • Star cookie cutter – about 2 inches wide

Instructions

  • *Before starting – soak your wooden skewers in water for about 10 minutes or more so they don’t scorch
  • Unroll the dough and cut 1 inch strips
  • Cut those in half, so they are about 8 inches long
  • Skewer the hot dogs, pushing the skewer through the top so that about 2 inches is exposed above the hot dog
  • Wrap the hot dogs with the crescent dough in a spiral so there are gaps exposing pieces of the hot dog
  • Pinch the ends to seal them
  • Line a piece of baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper
  • Place hot dogs on lined baking sheets
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 9 minutes or until the dough is cooked through and golden
  • While those are baking, cut 1 inch slices off of the block of cheese
  • Push the star cookie cutter into the pieces of cheese making 16 cheese stars
  • When the hot dogs are baked, add the stars to the top
