Ham & Cheese Sliders Recipe

ham and cheese slider recipe

Make these delicious sandwiches ahead of time and warm them up as needed.

  • Sliced Quarter Ham – That should give you about 30 slices or more
  • Your preferred cheese slices – one per sandwich: Swiss Cheese slices and/or American Cheese are nice options
  • 1/2 c. of butter
  • 2 sweet onions – sliced
  • 1&1/2 t. poppy seeds
  • 2 T of yellow mustard
  • 3 dashes of garlic powder
  • 30+ Small Slider Rolls – or- rolls/buns of your liking

Optional Butter Topping:

  • 4 Tbsp. of melted butter
  • 1 tsp. of poppy seeds

  • Over med-high heat, melt the stick of butter
  • Saute onion until onion turns translucent – about 10 minutes
  • Add poppy seeds, yellow mustard and garlic powder
  • Continue to cook a few more minutes to let the flavors mix
  • Open the rolls and add some buttered onions, a slice of folded ham and folded cheese slice to each roll
  • Place top on rolls
  • Or – place all sliders in a baking dish
  • For butter topping:
  • Mix melted butter and poppy seeds, pour over rolls
  • Place foil over the baking dish
  • Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is melted and ham is heated through – about 10 minutes

  • *If you want to freeze these, wrap the sliders individually in foil, and place in a freezer bag – you may need to bake them a little longer than 10 minutes to heat through.
