Olaf from Frozen Food Idea

Olaf Brownies are the perfect party treat for your Frozen Themed Party!

Ingredients

Brownies:

  • Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix

Measurements will vary depending on the type of brownie mix you have, but you’ll most likely need…

  • Canola Oil – measurements per instructions on the box
  • Eggs – Add an additional to make “cake-like’ brownies (preferred)
  • Water – measurement per instructions on your box mix

Olaf:

  • Large (not Jumbo!) marshmallows
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Black frosting (gel frosting works well)
  • Orange frosting (gel frosting works well)

*Any frosting that you can not find already in a ready to use tube should be piped with a round writing tip.

Olaf In Summer:

  • Blue Frosting
  • Cocktail Umbrellas

Olaf in Enchanted Forest:

  • Fall leaf sprinkles
  • Chocolate Frosting

Instructions

  • Make milk chocolate brownies in a 13×9 baking pan using the Cake-Like Brownie instructions (usually, that is just adding an additional egg to the batter)
  • Let the brownies cool

For summer Olaf:

  • Cut brownies into 3&1/2″x3&1/2 inch squares

For Fall Olaf:

  • you can cut brownies into 3&1/2×2&1/2 inch rectangles

Decorating Brownies:

  • Frost brownies (blue for summer Olaf, brown for Fall Enchanted Forest)

Assembling Olaf – this the same for either Movie Theme:

(Images are taken from my Olaf Jello Treat to help aid you in assembling him)

How to make Olaf Jello Treat for Frozen Themed Parties

  • Turn the large marshmallow on its’ side and cut it into 2 pieces – you should cut it about 2/3 of the way down, giving you one large piece for the big belly and one skinny piece for his head
  • *the image above is from my Olaf Jello Treat and shows the marshmallow cut into 3 pieces. This time, I opted to do 2 pieces with one larger for his big belly

How to make Olaf Jello Treat for Frozen Themed Parties

  • Place the headpiece down – this piece should vertical so the oval is long for face features
  • Under that, place a mini marshmallow turned sideways
  • Now, under the miniature marshmallow, place the large portion of your cut marshmallow – sideways, so the oval tips are on their side
  • 2 miniature marshmallows go under the belly for feet

Olaf’s buttons, hair, and face

  • Pipe 2 black buttons on the bottom large marshmallow and 1 black button on the middle miniature marshmallow
  • Then, using the black frosting, pipe 2 round eyes and a smile on his face
  • Use brown frosting to make 3 strands of hair on Olaf’s head, and his eyebrows
  • *Note – his hair can be a bit tricky as the frosting goes off of the marshmallow. Just do your best to do 3 short strands. I had to go back and add some more in if anything fell off the side. Once you figure the hair out, the rest is easy.

Olaf’s arms:

Fall (Enchanted Forest Olaf)

  • I split a pretzel stick in half for Olaf’s arms. Sometimes, I pointed his arms downward, and sometimes upward
  • *The pretzel lengths may vary per brand – just eye it.

In summer Olaf:

  • I piped the arms with brown frosting, but you could also use the pretzel sticks

Specific Decorations for Olaf in Summer:

  • Place  a cocktail umbrella in Olaf in Summer Brownies

Specific Decoratins for Olaf in Fall (Enchanted Forest)

  • Sprinkle fall leaves around Olaf, piling them up a bit around his body

Notes

Storing your olaf Brownies:

  • Olaf brownies are best when stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Other notes from recipe above:

  • *Note – his hair can be a bit tricky as the frosting goes off of the marshmallow. Just do your best to do 3 short strands. I had to go back and add some more in if anything fell off the side. Once you figure the hair out, the rest is easy
  • *Any frosting that you can not find already in a ready to use tube should be piped with a round writing tip.
