Oatmeal Bars with chocolate chips

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. (2 sticks) of butter softened
  • 1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1&1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups of Quaker Oats – Quick or Old Fashioned – uncooked
  • 1 cup of mini milk chocolate chips, such as Hershey’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a medium bowl, Beat the butter and sugars together until creamy
  3. Add the eggs, and vanilla, mix together
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix well
  6. Fold in the Oatmeal, and Chocolate Chips
  7. Press into an ungreased 9×13 baking pan
  8. Bake for 30 minutes
  9. Check doneness by inserting a toothipick into the middle. If it comes out clean they are probably ready.
