The Best  Strawberry Shortcake 

Almond Sponge Cake and Jell-O strawberry sauce turned into the most delicious and classic Strawberry Shortcake.

Cake Ingredients: 

– eggs  – sugar – almond extract  – baking powder – all-purpose flour

Strawberry Sauce Ingredients: 

– sliced strawberries – granulated sugar – strawberry Jell-O – water

Whipped Cream Ingredients: 

– chilled Heavy cream – powdered sugar

– Preheat the oven to 375 degrees – In a large bowl, whisk the 4 eggs until light and fluffy, add the sugar and continue to beat until sugar is mixed in, add the almond extract, and mix in

Cake Instructions: 

– In a medium bowl, mix the baking powder and flour – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture stirring it in as you go – Pour this into a greased 10-inch spring pan – Bake for 20-25 minutes - be sure to insert a toothpick in the middle to check for doneness (if the toothpick comes out clean and dry, you are good to go) – Cool off for 1 hour

Strawberry Sauce  Instructions: 

– In the meantime, grab a large bowl, and slice your strawberries – Sprinkle the granulated sugar on the strawberries – In a saucepan and heat water, and dissolve strawberry jello – Let cool - slightly – Pour over the strawberries

Whipped Cream  Instructions: 

– Using a mixer - Pour the heavy whipping cream into a cold bowl and beat on high until the cream is forming stiff peaks, add the powdered sugar, and whip some more to mix in
