Banana Bread Bars

Delicious banana bread bars with cream cheese frosting

Materials

  • ½ cup butter unsalted softened
  • 1&1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • ¾ cup buttermilk if you don't have buttermilk - add a little lemon juice to your milk and let sit for 5 minutes - Voila' Buttermilk!
  • 2 bananas overly ripe
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour all-purpose
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda

Cream Cheese Topping

  • 2 8 oz. cream cheese
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp orange juice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 13 x 9 pan
  • In a large mixing bowl - Cream the butter and sugar together
  • Add the eggs milk, bananas, sour cream, & vanilla
  • Add flour, salt and soda
  • Pour into your prepared pan
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Take out and allow to cool down
  • While that's cooling mix the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and orange juice
  • Spread onto the banana bread
  • Cut into bars
  • Enjoy!
