Materials

  • A Roll of Paper TowelQuilter's Batting, or fiber fill. Or, something similar to give the paper towel some extra fluff.
  • Fabric Glue
  • A piece of Easter Fabric - or pastel fabric - about four feet by four feet. Polka Dots would be so cute.
  • Wide colorful ribbon

Instructions

  • Cut the batting or fiberfill so it's tall enough to cover the length of your paper towel and it is wide enough to wrap around your paper towel at least one time.
  • Add a little extra to the top of the paper towel to add some cushion on top and give it that egg-shapeGlue to secure
  • Cut your fabric into three egg-shaped pieces that, when pieced together, will cover your paper towel from top to bottom and will also cover it in circumference.
  • My pieces are about fifteen inches tall and nine inches wide at the bottom. They are six inches wide at the top.
  • Note - your measurements might not be the same as mine. Paper towels come in different sizes and shapes, and your filler might be thicker than mine, so measure your paper towel base to be sure.
  • Start gluing your three pieces of fabric over your paper towel, overlapping them all of the way around the paper towel and batting.
  • Cut one more circular piece of fabric to cover the bottom of the paper towel and glue it.
  • Tuck it inside the other fabric pieces and glue it to secure.
  • Measure your seams and cut the wide ribbon to match the length from the center/top of your egg - going a couple of inches past the bottom so you can pull it tight and adjust it.
  • Glue the ribbon over the seams. You can adjust your egg by pulling the ribbon tighter at the top or the bottom and giving it slack in others to tighten or loosen the fabric.
  • Make a bow with some of your ribbon to cover the top
