12 oz. Yellow Chocolate MeltsWilton or Sweet Tooth Fairy are preferred brands
24 Candy Eyes with a blue iris
12 Pre-baked and cooled cupcakes
16 oz. Orange Frosting Add orange food coloring or red and yellow food coloring to white frosting to achieve the orange color
Instructions
Melt chocolate according to the package directions, or do what I do. I place it into a glass microwave-proof bowl and microwave it for one minute. I stir it until smooth. If needed, I microwave for 30 more seconds and stir until smooth.
Place wax paper down on your work surface
Spoon melted chocolate into mustache molds
Gently tap the molds onto the counter to release air pockets
Place your lollipop sticks which have been cut into thirds, into the mold partially over the mustache
Spoon a tiny amount of chocolate over the lollipop stick portion which is setting on the yellow mustache. This will help to ensure the lollipop is glued in place
The mustaches are a thick amount of chocolate, so depending on the air temperature the chocolate will set up in 15-30 minutes
Gently twist your mold, releasing the chocolate from the sides of the mustaches
Turn the molds around and let the mustaches release onto the wax paper. If necessary, give a little tap to release them
Make as many as you need for the amount of cupcakes you have
You should still have a little bit of chocolate in your bowl. Microwave that for 15-30 seconds
Use a toothpick to grab some melted chocolate and use it as glue to glue the eyes onto each mustache
Place your orange frosting in a piping bag fitted with a grass tip.
Squeeze a small amount of frosting onto the cupcake and lift straight up to get the look of grass or fur, which is what we are going for
When that has hardened, place your lollipop Lorax mustaches and eyes into the center of each cupcake.
