Root Beer Barbecue Sauce
A delicious barbecue sauce that is homemade and easy to make

- 3 cups root beer
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup yellow mustard
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. paprika Spanish paprika or Smoked are both great flavors
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
In a medium saucepan over med/high heat, add the root beer
Boil for about 10 minutes until the soda has reduced and thickened a bit

Lower the heat to a simmer, and add the rest of the ingredients - whisking everything together
Continue to simmer for about 30 more minutes or until the sauce is thickened to your liking

Reducing Root Beer
- The root beer will bubble right away as you pour it into the saucepan. This is just the gases rising to the surface
- To get root beer to a boiling point, it will probably take about 5 minutes
- Once it is at a boiling point - start your timer. It will take 10-15 minutes of boiling to reduce
- The reduced color will be much darker and the liquid will be slightly thicker
