{Oven Baked} Portobello Mushroom Burger | Kid Friendly Things To Do

Delicious Portobello Mushroom Burgers are healthy and filling.

Materials

  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 2 Roma Tomatoes - chopped
  • ¾ cup Shredded Colby Jack Cheese
  • 1 &1/2 t of Marjoram Seasoning
  • ½ t salt
  • 4 hamburger buns - split

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees
  • Remove, and discard stems from mushrooms. Use a spoon to scrap out the gills
  • Place the mushrooms on a baking sheet
  • brush both sides of the mushrooms with olive oil - do not discard left over oil
  • Place the mushrooms stem side down in the pan
  • Pour 1/2 of the beef broth over the mushrooms
  • Bake for about 6 minutes

  • While those are baking, use a small bowl to mix the tomatoes, cheese, seasonings, and 1 Tablespoon of the remaining olive oil
  • Turn over, pour the remaining broth over the mushrooms
  • Add the cheese mixture to the inside of the mushrooms

  • Bake for another 10 minutes
  • Serving suggestion: Enjoy with Sweet Potato Fries

Notes

  • Marjoram is similar to Oregano, but more mild in flavor. If you don't have any on hand - You can substitute it with chives, sweet basil, or oregano
