Notes

How far in advance can I make these Fall Cupcakes?

You could easily make these cupcakes 3 days in advance. You'll want to cover them and store them at room temperature.
Storing: Store leftover cupcakes at room temperature in an airtight container

Do I Have to use a tip and piping bag for this recipe?

No! You can easily fill a zip-tight bag with frosting and snip the corner to use instead. You can also buy a ready-made icing tube from your grocery store's baking aisle and use that

Tips and Tricks:

  • you can use a round tip with a piping bag for the owl eyes, but you don't have to. Try finding a decorating icing tube that has a round tip or use a baggie and snip the corner, instead
  • I used silicone cupcake wrappers, but you can use paper ones instead
  • if you love chocolate frosting, then feel free to spread a bit onto the chocolate cupcake before decorating it to look like an owl
  • you can substitute yellow Reese's candy for the M&M
