Materials

  • 1 box milk chocolate brownies baked in a parchment paper lined 9x13 inch pan and completely cooled off
  • 1 16 oz. chocolate cupcake frosting
  • 24 mini pretzel twists
  • 12 M&Ms red
  • 24 candy eyes

Instructions

  • bake the milk chocolate brownies in a parchment paper lined 9x13 inch pan
    cutting triangles for Christmas tree brownies
  • let them cool completely
  • lift the parchment paper out with the brownies
  • use a long serrated knife to trim the crisp outer edges
  • cut brownies into 12 or more brownies
  • frost brownies with chocolate frosting making the frosting thick enough to push decorations into it
  • add candy eyes and a red chocolate nose
  • press the twisted pretzels into the wider edges of the brownie so the heart-shaped portion is sticking out

Yes! Although, I wouldn't make this recipe more than a few days in advance. Store frosted brownies at room temperature in an air-tight container

I would not suggest freezing these brownies. The brownies would take on moisture and the decorations and pretzels would be impacted

Tips and Tricks for making these Christmas brownies:

  • use parchment paper to line your 9x13-inch baking pan. This makes it easier to lift the brownies out once they have cooled off, so you can cut them into triangles
  • you'll want to trim the edges of the brownies to take the crispy hardened edges off before cutting them into triangles
