Paper Plate Fish Craft

A cute and simple paper plate fish craft for kids

Equipment

  • 1 sponge brush
  • 1 Scissors
  • 1 low temp glue gun with glue sticks or a Tacky glue like Fabri-Tac glue

Materials

  • 1 paper plate You can use a regular sized one as I did, or make a mini fish with a dessert sized plate
  • amount will vary orange paint for kids
  • 1 large googly eye Mine was 1&1/2 inches wide

Instructions

  • paint the paper plate and let it dry
  • Cut a large triangle out of one section of the painted paper plate
  • Use the triangle you just cut out of the plate to make a fishtail on the opposite side of the cutout portion
  • Glue it to secure
  • Glue the eye above the mouth
  • If you want, you can decorate with cupcake wrappers, tissue paper, or cellophane paper to make scales or more fins

Tips and Tricks

  • you can turn this simple paper fish into a tropical paper plate fish craft by adding colorful tissue paper squares, folded cupcake wrappers, decorative fish paper, and sequins
  • Another fun idea, if you have a little artist on your hands, is to add polka dots, or stripes with contrasting pain
