Equipment

  • parchment paper I recommend using parchment paper or non-stick foil.
  • football cookie cutter I found a four inch football cookie cutter that is perfect for this football treat
  • paper straws - I found some football-themed paper straws online that were perfect, and also used green and white straws.
  • piping bag with a writing tip attached
  • wax paper to lay the chocolate-covered footballs on to dry

Materials

  • 1 box Fudge Brownie Mix plus the ingredients listed on the box
  • 11 oz. Chocolate Melts milk chocolate or light brown
  • 8 oz. White Frosting

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the sides of the parchment-lined pan, and spray the bottom of your 9x13 baking dish with oil.
  • Combine your brownie mix, oil, water, and eggs recommended in a large bowl on the box. Stir until well blended. Spread into your prepared pan.
  • Bake for about 22 - 25 minutes. Insert a wooden pick into the center of the brownies.
  • Lift the brownies out of the pan with parchment paper still under them. Just grab the edges of the paper and transfer the brownies to a wire rack to cool. Let them cool completely—at least one hour. If you don't, they may be too soft and fall apart.
  • Transfer the parchment paper and brownies to a work surface when the brownies have cooled
  • Use the cookie cutter to cut about 12 brownies. The scraps are for you and the rest of the crew.Place paper straws into the center of each football. Transfer the football lollipops onto your wax paper on an optional small baking sheet.
  • Melt the chocolate melts using the package directions. I pour my bag into a microwave-proof bowl and hit 1 minute. Stir. & pop it back in for 30 seconds.
  • Now, you have to work fast. The chocolate candy hardens very quickly. Spread the brown chocolate over your footballs. Add some chocolate around the straw to secure it in place.
  • Carefully lift the brownies and add some chocolate to the back of the brownie, where the straw meets the brownie. You don't want the straw to pop through the back. You can spread chocolate across the entire back, but that is optional.
  • Set the brownie back down to dry.
  • Once the chocolate has dried and hardened, use the frosting waiting in your piping bag with a writing tip attached to make a line in the center and draw three to five laces across the line.
  • Optional - Add the two white curves on either side of the football.
