- 8 oz. tomato sauce You will get half the amount for any can of sauce you use. So, if you use an 8 oz. can of sauce, you'll get 4 oz. of paste.
In a medium sauce pan over med/high heat, bring the sauce to boiling
Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for another 5-10 minutes stirring often
Once the sauce has thickened up and reduced to about half the amount, you should now be able to use it as tomato paste in your recipe

Remember that you can change the amount of tomato sauce to get more paste. The paste will be about half of the amount of sauce you cook down.
