- 1 box fudgy brownie mix
- Eggs oil, and water—as directed on your brownie mix package
- Butter-flavored oil spray for greasing the pan
- 8 oz. Green vanilla frosting as needed—I used Pillsbury Funfetti Slime Green Vanilla Frosting
- Great Value Monster Lab Sprinkle Mix as needed, including candy eyeballs
- White or green round sprinkles as needed, for bubbles
- 18 mini pretzel sticks approximately one per brownie bite
Prepare the brownie batter according to the package directions.
Generously grease the mini muffin cups with butter-flavored oil spray. Spoon batter into each cup, filling it level with the top.
Bake at [CONFIRM TEMPERATURE] for [CONFIRM TIME].
Let the brownies cool in the pan for a couple of minutes. While they’re still warm and pliable, gently press the rounded back of a tablespoon measuring spoon into each center to form a shallow bowl. Do not press through the bottom.
Gently slide a butter knife between each brownie and the muffin cup to loosen it, then carefully lift it out. Let the brownies cool completely before frosting.
Fit a piping bag with an open-star tip. Fill with green vanilla frosting and pipe into each brownie bowl.
Add Monster Lab sprinkles, including candy eyeballs. Sprinkle white or green round sprinkles over the frosting to resemble bubbles.
Break just the very end off each mini pretzel stick to shorten it slightly. Insert into the frosting at an angle as a stirring spoon.
- Estimated yield: I made 12 cauldrons with batter left over and estimate about 18 per box. Yield varies with the brownie mix and mini muffin cup size.
- Shaping: Use a measuring spoon with a rounded, circular bottom. Shape the brownies after a couple of minutes of cooling while they’re still pliable.
- Frosting: Cool the brownies completely so the frosting doesn’t melt.
- Bubble sprinkles: I used white round sprinkles; green would also work.
- Frosting alternative: Tint vanilla frosting green with food coloring.
