Materials

  • 2 lbs. fresh strawberries estimate
  • 6 oz,. chocolate melts Red
  • 6 oz. chocolate melts Bright blue
  • 6 oz. chocolate melts Yellow
  • 6 oz. chocolate melts Orange
  • 6 oz. chocolate melts Lavender
  • 7 oz. mini Reese's cups unwrapped
  • 3 oz. chocolate melts brown
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 oz. chocolate melts dark green

Instructions

  • Prep the strawberries: Rinse and completely dry the strawberries. I like to wrap them in a paper towel and pat them dry. Remove stems.
  • Melt the chocolate: Melt each color of chocolate in separate microwave-safe bowls until smooth.
  • A good system would be to melt one of the colors, dip as many strawberries as you think you'd like for that specific color, and then once you have those done and sprinkled with sugar, repeat with the next.

Melting Chocolates

  • Microwave meltsffor about 1 minute - stir until smooth - if needed add an additional 30 seconds in the microwave. Do not microwave longer than that. If you microwave for too long, the chocolate will become thick, (See notes)
  • Dip the strawberries: Using a fork, dip strawberries in chocolate. Tap fork to remove excess and use a toothpick to slide strawberries onto wax paper.
  • Add sugar sparkle: Sprinkle granulated sugar over wet chocolate. Allow to set.
  • Attach Reese’s cups: Melt brown chocolate, dip the flat side of mini Reese’s cups, and attach to strawberry tops.
  • Set: Allow chocolate to fully harden before serving. Store in refrigerator until ready to display.
  • Serve - Create chocolate wire (optional): Melt dark green chocolate, pipe lines or zig-zags onto platter to resemble a wire, and place strawberries along the chocolate lines.
