This Copycat Olive Garden Meat Sauce is rich, hearty, and packed with ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, marinara sauce, and Italian seasonings. It's an easy homemade spaghetti meat sauce that's perfect for family dinners, meal prep, and feeding a crowd.

Materials

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 72 oz. marinara sauce (3 - 24 ounce jars, I used Ragu Marinara)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound mild Italian sausage casings removed (or ground Italian sausage)
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup red cooking wine
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 pound spaghetti noodles cooked (for serving)
  • Fresh Parmesan cheese, optional

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour the marinara sauce into the pot.
  • Bring it to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover with a lid.
  • Meanwhile, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
  • Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add the cooked meat mixture to the pot of marinara sauce.
  • Stir in the chopped pepperoni, Italian seasoning, red cooking wine, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to blend together.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  • Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles with grated Parmesan cheese, garlic bread, and a fresh salad.
