Materials

  • Nature Spotter Printable
  • Cardstock or thin cardboard (drink case cardboard works great)
  • Cellophane
  • Nature stickers
  • Markers
  • Tape or glue

Instructions

  • Print the Nature Spotter template onto cardstock or print on paper and trace onto cardboard
  • Cut out the outer shape and the center window.
  • Cut cellophane slightly larger than the opening.
  • Attach cellophane behind the opening with tape or glue
  • Decorate with markers and nature stickers.
  • Let dry if needed.
  • Take the finished Nature Spotters outside and search for flowers, bugs, leaves, and backyard treasures.

Notes

  • Thin cardboard from drink boxes is sturdy but easier for kids to cut than shipping boxes.
  • Adults can pre-cut the center window for younger children.
  • Colored cellophane creates a fun pretend magnifying effect but does not actually magnify.
