Materials

  • Cardboard tubes I used toilet paper tubes from the bathroom
  • Tissue paper folded over and cut into a rectangle that is about 6 inches by 10 inches
  • Ribbon Curling ribbon is fun, but use whatever ribbon you have on hand
  • Decorations It's always more fun to see festive party poppers, so use stickers or confetti to decorate them
  • Clear tape
  • Confetti, candy, tiny toys, and other surprises to go inside the toilet paper tubes

Instructions

  • Cut the toilet paper tube in half
  • Piece the tube back together
  • Fold the tissue paper in half and cut a rectangular piece that is about four inches wider than the tube and tall enough to wrap around the tube
  • Slide the toilet paper tube to the center of the tissue paper
  • Tape the tissue paper to both halves of the tube
  • Roll the tissue paper around the tube
  • Squeeze one side of the tissue paper end and tie it up with a ribbon
  • Leave the other side open for now
  • Fill the tube from the open end with confetti, candy, and prizes
  • Tie ribbon around the open end of the tissue paper
  • Decorate the party popper with stickers or glue confetti onto the popper
  • When you are ready to celebrate, hand them to the kids or kids at heart, and let them pull the poppers apart. It's like a mini pinata in your hands and so much fun.
