Marshmallow Ghost Cookies

Equipment

  • food safe marker with a writing tip
  • parchment paper
  • Baking Sheet
  • glass microwave proof bowl for melting chocolate
  • Spoon

Materials

  • 12 chocolate chip cookies storebought or homemade - cooled and ready to decorate
  • 6 oz. chocolate melts bright white
  • 1 tsp. vegetable shortening
  • 12 marshmallows

Instructions

  • Bake or Prep the Cookies – Start with a batch of your favorite chocolate chip cookies. Let them cool completely before decorating.
  • Prep Marshmallows - Draw ghost faces onto marshmallows.
  • Melt the Chocolate - Using a small glass bowl, melt the chocolate. Start out by heating it for one minute, and stir until smooth. If needed, add up to 30 more seconds in the microwave, but not more than that. Stir until Smooth
  • Thin the chocolate - Use a small amount of vegetable shortening to thin the chocolate, making it runny, allowing it to spread easily.
  • Make the Ghost Gown – Melt your chocolate and spoon a small circle onto the center of each cookie. Using the back of a spoon, spread the mixture slightly to resemble a ghostly gown.
  • Place the Ghost Head – While the chocolate is still melted, place one marshmallow on top of the melted chocolate before it hardens.
  • Serve & Enjoy – Arrange your marshmallow ghost cookies on a platter and enjoy.
