Materials
Paper cup
Paper towel roll (or empty wrapping paper tube cut down)
Olympic flame printable
Olympic rings printable
Scissors
Tape and Glue stick
Instructions
Print the flame and Olympic rings onto cardstock.
Color the flames.
Cut out the flame and rings.
Glue the Olympic rings onto the paper cup.
Cut a hole into the bottom of the cup - just large enough for the paper towel, but not too big that it falls through. You want it to slide up and down.
You can cut the paper towel in half to make shorter torches or leave it intact for a long torch to hold
Push the paper towel roll up through the hole
Secure the flame to the paper towel tube tape or glue
Let kids parade their torches around for their own opening ceremony
