Equipment

  • slow cooker or large pot

Materials

  • ½ gallon of apple cider
  • ½ cup of packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8-10 whole cloves

Instructions

  • Combine the apple cider, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves in your slow cooker. Stir together.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 2–3 hours.
  • Stir well, then remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves before serving. Ladle into mugs and enjoy.

Notes

Stovetop option: Combine the same ingredients in a large saucepan or pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Stir well and remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves before serving. Allow additional time for the cider to reach a boil.
Stir before serving: The spices settle at the bottom, so give the cider a good stir before ladling it into mugs.
