Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce

Materials

  • ¼ cup vidalia onion - chopped or sliced
  • 2 tbsp. butter unsalted
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup syrup
  • 1 tbsp. yellow mustard
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce

Instructions

  • In a skillet, over med/high heat, melt the butter and add the chopped onion
  • Saute the onion for about 5 minutes or until it starts to become transparent and tender
  • Add the vinegar, ketchup, syrup, mustard, salt, and soy sauce
  • Stir and reduce heat to simmer
  • Let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently
  • Transfer to your food processor, and grind the sauce so the onion bits disappear into the sauce
  • Pour into your jar, and brush on your ribs, chicken, pork - whatever you like
