Create a turkey in disguise with a printable turkey template and take-home family letter. Kids can draw a disguise or decorate with craft supplies to make their turkey look like something else.
Yield: 1 turkey in disguise
Author: Melissa Haines

Equipment

  • printer
  • Crayons or markers
  • Scissors, if needed

Materials

  • Turkey template printed on paper or cardstock
  • Glue if needed
  • Optional materials for the chosen disguise: colored paper yarn, tissue paper, cotton balls, or other craft supplies

Instructions

  • Print the template. Print the turkey page. For a take-home classroom project, include the family letter and fill in the return date.
  • Choose a disguise. Let your child decide what their turkey will pretend to be. Use the illustrated ideas sheet or the ideas in the post for inspiration.
  • Decorate the turkey. Draw and color directly on the page or attach craft materials to create the disguise. Decorate the full page or cut out the turkey with adult help as needed.
  • Complete the writing. Add your child’s name and finish the sentence, “My turkey is disguised as.”
  • Share the disguise. Have your child explain what their turkey is pretending to be. Return it by the assigned date if completing a classroom project.

Notes

Disguise suggestions are ideas to try, not tested craft examples.
Always supervise children during crafts. Small parts can be a choking hazard.
