Valentine Olaf Bowling Game (Easy Indoor Party Game for Kids)

Valentine Olaf bowling game for kids using foam balls and paper towel rolls—perfect indoor Valentine party activity.
Yield: 1 game
Author: Melissa Haines

Materials

  • (3) 8-inch white foam balls
  • White felt (for tooth) - shaped into a large, wide tooth.
  • Black felt (for mouth detail under tooth) the same shape as the white tooth, but larger.
  • Small round felt cutouts (for eyes) - about 2 inches wide
  • Black paint
  • Round sponge paintbrush
  • Brown string (for eyebrows)
  • Orange foam (cut into carrot noses)
  • Strong tacky craft glue I used Beacon 3-in-1
  • Wooden dowel (about ¾ inch wide)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Make Bowling Ball Finger Holes

Using a wooden dowel (about ¾ inch wide), gently push into the foam ball where fingers would normally go on a kid’s bowling ball. This creates three small indentations, making the ball easier for kids to grip and roll.
  • Step 2: Create Olaf’s Face

Glue the felt pieces onto each foam ball:
Add the large white felt tooth to a larger black felt piece underneath to form Olaf’s mouth.
Draw or paint a smile coming from the tooth.
Dip a round sponge paintbrush into black paint and gently dot the center of each white round felt eye to create pupils.
Glue on the round felt eye cutouts.
Glue on brown string eyebrows and an orange foam carrot nose.
Allow the glue to fully dry before moving on.
  • Step 3: Decorate the Pins

Glue large foam Valentine stickers onto each paper towel roll. Hearts, Valentine words, and bright colors work great and really give the game its festive Valentine’s Day look.
  • Step 4: Set Up the Game

Stand the paper towel rolls upright in a triangle or straight line. Place Olaf’s head a few feet away and let kids roll it to knock down his “body” pins.
