Water Bottle Bee Craft

Turn an empty plastic water bottle into an adorable bee craft for kids using simple craft supplies. Perfect for preschool bug themes, spring crafts, and recycled crafting activities.

Materials

  • Empty water bottleBlack pipe cleanerLarge googly eyesCotton roundsYellow electrical tapeBlack electrical tapeBeacon 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue or tacky glue

Instructions

  • Step 1

    Wrap yellow and black electrical tape around the water bottle to create bee stripes. Alternate the colors as you work your way down the bottle.
  • Step 2

    Glue two large googly eyes onto the front upper section of the bottle.
  • Step 3

    Glue cotton rounds onto the back sides of the bottle to create wings.
  • Step 4

    Cut two small pieces of black pipe cleaner and gently curve the tops to form antennae.
  • Step 5

    Glue the pipe cleaner antennae behind the googly eyes.
  • Step 6

    Allow the glue to dry completely before moving or displaying the bee craft.

Notes

Electrical tape works especially well for this craft because it wraps smoothly around the bottle and creates bright bee stripes without needing paint.
I found it easiest to wrap the tape onto the bottle before attaching the wings and googly eyes.
 
Crafts and activities should be supervised by adults at all times. Small parts are a choking hazard.
