Equipment

  • parchment paper
  • 3 inch heart cookie cutters
  • paper straws - Valentine's Day colors optional

Materials

  • 18 oz. fudge brownie mix plus ingredients needed from the box instructions like eggs, water, and oil
  • 16 oz. Pink Frosting - I used Strawberries and Cream by Duncan Hines
  • 3 oz. Valentine Sprinkles
  • 1 oz. Frosting in a squeeze tube

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Line your dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl combine your brownie mix, oil, water, and eggs - as directed on the box. Stir until well blended
  • Spread into your prepared 9x13 pan - lined with parchment paper
  • Bake using instructions on the box
  • Now, lift the brownies out of the pan with parchment paper still under them. Just grab the edges of the paper, and transfer brownies to a wire rack to cool.
  • Let them cool completely. At least 30 minutes - If you don't they may be too soft, and fall apart.
  • When brownies have cooled - pull brownies out of the pan and with the paper still underneath place them on work surface
  • Use the cookie cutter to cut about 12 brownies. The scraps are for you, and the rest of the crew!
  • Frost brownies and decorate with your sprinkles, frosting, and/or candy
  • Optional - insert paper straws into hearts

Notes

Storage: Store brownies covered at room temperature for 3-4 days
