Equipment

  • 10x10 greased pan
  • heart cookie cutter 3 inches
  • 9x13 inch greased pan

Materials

  • 18 oz. red jello
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 2 0z. Knox unflavored Gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1&1/2 cups boiling water
  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  • Use a large saucepan to boil 4 cups of water
  • Add the Red Jello and stir for a few minutes until it is completely dissolved
  • Pour into your greased 10x10 pan (9x9) would also work
  • Refrigerate for a few hours - making sure it is nice and firm like a jello jiggler
  • Use a knife to loosed the edges of the jello and invert it onto a cutting board lined with wax paper
  • Cut 6 hearts out of the red jello and place the hearts into the 9x13 pan
  • Pour the cold water into a spouted bowl
  • Add the unflavored gelatin packs by sprinkling them over the cold water
  • Let stand for 1 minute
  • While that is setting up, boil the 1&1/2 cups of water in a saucepan
  • Pour the boiling water over the gelled gelatin
  • Add the condensed milk and stir in
  • Let it cool off to room temperature
  • Pour into the 9x13 pan - do not pour directly onto the hearts
  • Stop before you are even with the hearts, so the hearts are slightly higher than the white jello
  • You will probably have white jello left over
  • Chill for a couple more hours
  • When ready, cut into squares and serve!

Notes

  • *Mayonnaise make the best natural grease for jello! Just put a little dab on some paper towel and rub around the pan
