Ground Beef Stroganoff Recipe

- 1 lb. ground beef I like to get ground sirloin
- 1 medium sweet onion - like vidalia - chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 10 oz. cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk - divided
- 4 cups wide egg noodles uncooked
- 1 cup sour cream
- 6 oz. sliced mushrooms (drained)
brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion and drain any fat left in the pan - If you use sirloin, there won't be that much to drain
Add broth, soup and 1/2 cup of the milk - mix well. A whisk works well in this case
Cover and heat to boiling
Reduce heat to a low boil
Add the noodles, sour cream and mushrooms - stir in and cover
Cook until noodles are tender (about 10 minutes)
Add the rest of the milk and mix in
Serving suggestion - Serve with warm bread slices
- For an even creamier sauce - You can substitute heavy cream for the milk
