Brats and Sauerkraut {Foil Packet}
Brats and Sauerkraut in a foil pack that is perfect for the grill or campfire.

- 4 bratwurst fully-cooked
- 4 hot dog buns or brat buns
- ⅓ cup green bell pepper chopped
- ¼ cup sweet onion chopped
- 1 tsp. yellow mustard
- ½ tsp. caraway seed
- ¾ cup sauerkraut drained
In a medium bowl, combine the pepper, onion, sugar, mustard, caraway, and sauerkraut
mix well
cut 2 long pieces of foil - about 16 inches in length and stack them
place the mixture into the center of the foil and add the bratwurst on top
fold the foil into a tent pack
Cook on the preheated grill - medium heat, above direct heat
Close the lid and cook for about 15 minutes
Turn brats over a couple of times during cooking
Serve bratwurst on buns with some of the sauerkraut mixtures
Oven method - 375 degrees - bake for 20-25 minutes
Campfire - cook over hot coals on a grill - for 15- 20 minutes
In Hot Coal Embers - place double foil packet in hot embers for 15-20 minutes or until heated through
