A simple canoe craft to make with the kids.
Prep Time2 minutes
Active Time5 minutes
Total Time7 minutes
Yield: 1 canoe
Author: Melissa Haines
Cost: $5

Materials

  • 1 Brown Band-Aid I used 1 & 3/4 x 4 inch Bandaids
  • 2 Markers two different colors. Something bright that will show up on the bandaid
  • 1 Rick-Rack (cut into the length of the folded paper) I like to use blue because I think it looks like water
  • Craft glue like Fabri-Tack
  • 1 Paper (8X10) construction paper or card stock

Instructions

  • Leaving the paper backing on the Band-Aid, fold it in half to make a crease
  • Decorate one side of the Band-Aid - I kept it simple with a wavy line and dots. You can use Native American symbols and get as creative as you like
  • Take the paper strip off of the Band-Aid and carefully match the edges as you fold it in half down the length of the Band-Aid.
  • Fold the piece of paper in half
  • Glue Rick Rack across the bottom of the folded paper.
  • Glue the canoe onto your folded sheet of paper, and glue 2 Q-tips in an X pattern for Oars.
  • If using this as a name or place card, write the child's name on the card with a marker.
