Cost: $10

Equipment

  • 1 round foam paint brush 1 inch wide
  • 1 pointed paint brush

Materials

  • An 8-inch Foam white ball - Do not get the polystyrene balls. They are too lightweight.
  • White felt circles - about 2 inches wide
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Brown cording for eyebrows
  • Black felt for his mouth
  • White felt for his tooth
  • Orange felt or foam for the nose
  • Paper towel 3-6 rolls

Instructions

  • Use the round foam brush and black paint to make black paint circles in the center of the white felt circles for Olaf's eyes
  • Use the same round foam brush and paint to make circles on the paper towel rolls, representing black buttons
  • Cut a carrot shape out of the orange foam or felt
  • Cut a long mouth out of the black felt
  • Cut an oblong tooth out of the white felt
  • Glue the big tooth onto the black mount
  • Cut two strips of brown cording for eyebrows
  • Using the wooden dowel, push finger holes into the foam ball - imagining little hands playing the game, space the holes closer together than you would for an adult hand. There should be one indention for the thumb and two finger holes below that one - just like a normal bowling ball
  • Begin assembling Olaf's face on the opposite side of the hole indentions, adding eyes, nose, mouth, and eyebrows.
  • Finally, paint a smile on either side of Olaf's mouth with the pointed brush and black paint.
