Email Sign Up form – I do have an email sign up form. In order to receive all of my posts as soon as they come out, you would add your email address in the sign up form. You will be directed to your email to confirm your subscription. Once you confirm that you are OK with my emails being sent and your email address being stored, you’ll be sent emails as soon as a new post goes out to see the newest and latest idea.
Opting Out from my email – You should be able to unsubscribe at the bottom of the email – at anytime. Once you unsubscribe, your email will be erased from the data base on Mad Mimi. If you can’t figure out how to do it, I can go into the back end and do it for you.
Comments – Wordpress asks for email addresses when you comment. This is most likely to email you when I respond or someone else responds to your comment or question. I do not have specific information on where or how long WordPress stores that information. It is not necessary to comment.
Google Analytics – Google is always collecting data. The things that I see in my analytics is an approximate age of all viewers (they do not break this down by specific people), gender, and interests. This data is collected by Google Analytics Cookies. It basically helps the website understand what type of audience it is attracting and helps us market our posts according to your interests, gives you a better user experience, etc…
What the heck are cookies? They track information from the user to give the user a more specific user experience, like showing you an ad about a Honda after you looked at one on another site.
Ads – My ad partner is Adthrive. They are GDPR Compliant and will not track citizens from the EU. This will definitely affect the user experience from the EU. EU citizens will not be shown personalized ads.
Here’s the Legal way of putting everything that I just said…

Third party services –
I do have a contract for the ads that are run on my site. Those ads are automatically displayed to you based on your likes and interests. I have been informed that my ad company – AdThrive has made their ads GDPR compliant.
Amazon – If you choose to click on a recommended item from within my post that is an Amazon link, you will be redirected to Amazon. If you buy a product from my site to Amazon’s site, I receive the smallest commission ever (I think I earned $15 last month) and it does not add any cost to you. When you hop over to Amazon, then you’ve left my site and they will have to take over in the GDPR compliant stuff.
Other third party commission sites – I’ve had this site for a long time, and I’ve experimented with some other affiliate sites. There might be some affiliate links that I can’t remember like Crikut (that cutting machine), somewhere in older posts. They work a lot like the Amazon site I mentioned above. If you click through, you’ll be directed to their site.
Who else collects data? – Who doesn’t these days? Without my knowledge, I’m not sure. I do have plugins on the site. Those plugins have their own tracking devices. An example of a plugin is my share buttons.
PRIVACY POLICY – Yes…there’s even more, but the GDPR stuff is mainly covered above.
