All Time Best Cinnamon Rolls

Good to the last bite cinnamon rolls


  • 1 package or 1/4 oz. of active dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 cup of Luke-Warm water – about 110 degrees
  • 1 cup of milk (2%)
  • 1/3 cup of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 33&1/2 cups of all purpose flour – I used Gold Medal


  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted


  • 1&1/2 cups of confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup of butter softened
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. water


  1. Using a large bowl, completely dissolve the yeast in the water
  2. In a separate, smaller bowl, mix the milk and pudding together for 1 minute and let stand for one more minute, or until it has thickened up
  3. Now, add the egg, melted butter, salt, and 2 cups of the flour
  4. Mix all of that together until it’s smooth, then add more of the flour until it’s a soft dough
  5. Using a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it is nice and smooth
  6. Grease a large bowl – I dipped a paper towel in some butter and rubbed it around the bowl
  7. Place the dough into the bowl, and flip it around so the top has grease on it
  8. Let that rise, covered, in a warm place for about 1 hour – or until it has doubled
  9. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together
  10. Place a piece of wax paper on a rolling surface, and spread a little flour out
  11. Punch the dough down, and place it onto the floured surface
  12. Spread the dough out and sprinkle some more flour on top
  13. Place another sheet of wax paper on top of that
  14. Roll the dough between the wax papers until it’s about 9″x12″
  15. Pull the top sheet of wax paper off
  16. Spread the 1/4 cup of melted butter over the dough
  17. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top
  18. Roll the dough up like a jelly roll – starting on a long side
  19. Pinch ends together
  20. Cut the roll into 12 slices
  21. Place the sliced pieces into a greased 9x13in. pan
  22. Cover and let rise for another 45 minutes – more waiting
  23. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  24. Bake for about 20-25 minutes
  25. Mix all of the frosting ingredients together in a small bowl
  26. Spread over the warm rolls
