Piping bag with a wide-open star tip for frosting cupcakes

How to Make these Bobber Cupcakes

Frost the cupcakes
Swirl blue frosting on top to look like water. Use a spoon or piping bag with an open star tip like this 6B piping tip.

Add the gummy fish
Gently press a gummy fish into the frosting water so it is somewhat submerged.

Add a fishing bobber
Add a small red and white round bobber behind the fish.

Pro-Tip

Fill cupcake wrappers two-thirds of the way up so the cake will rise above the wrapper.

Check for doneness of your cupcake by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cupcake. If the toothpick comes out with wet batter on it, they need a few more minutes.

Variations

Sand – Crush graham crackers and add them to the bottom of the cupcakes to look like sand.

Fishing Pole – Add a mini pretzel stick and a pull-n-peel licorice rope to this cupcake to reel the fish in

  • 18 bobbers one-inch or less
  • 6B wide star tip on piping bag optional. You can also spread the frosting or use another tip.

Ingredients

  • 18 cupcakes
  • 16 oz. frosting blue
  • 18 Swedish fish

Instructions

  • Frost the cupcakes. I used a 6B piping tip which is an open star tip to frost these cucpakes.
  • Add a Swedish fish to the front of the cupcake. Push it in so it is partially submerged.
  • Push a bobber into the cupcake behind the fish.
