Campfire Dirt Cups (Easy Camping Dessert for Kids)

There’s something about a campfire that brings people together. Some of my favorite family memories involve sitting around a fire pit, camping in the backyard, roasting marshmallows, and ending the day outside together. If you’ve ever done the same, you probably know exactly what I mean.
These Campfire Dirt Cups take all of that cozy camping fun and turn it into a playful dessert. My kids already love dirt cups and chocolate Teddy Grahams, so transforming a classic pudding treat into a little edible campfire felt like an easy win. I originally saw a similar idea and wanted to recreate it, and after a little trial and error, this version became our favorite.
Instead of gummy worms, these camping dirt cups use pretzel campfires, colorful frosting flames, marshmallows, and Teddy Grahams to create a dessert that feels nostalgic, playful, and perfect for summer, backyard campouts, camping parties, or making memories around the table.

How to Make Campfire Dirt Cups
Step 1: Fill the Cups with Chocolate Pudding
Add prepared chocolate pudding to each cup until mostly full.
Step 2:Add the Dirt Layer
Crush Oreos in a blender or sealed bag until they resemble dirt. Spoon crumbs over the pudding.

Step 3: Pipe the Campfire Flames
Using a large open star tip, pipe yellow frosting into the center while lifting upward.

Step 4: Build the Pretzel Campfire
Place mini pretzel sticks around the yellow center and lean them inward to create a campfire shape.
Tip: If your pretzels are too tall, break them shorter to help them stand.
Step 5: Add Orange and Red Flames
Pipe orange and red frosting around the pretzels and yellow center to create a layered campfire effect.

Step 6: Decorate the Campfire Scene
Finish with mini marshmallows and chocolate Teddy Grahams.
