Is it beginning to look and feel like Christmas at your house? These Rudolph chocolate pretzels are helping get me into the holiday spirit. They are so cute with their cherry noses, and yummy too! I’d love to share how I made them with you today, so you can make some this holiday season. Come on in, and I’ll show you how to make Rudolph Chocolate and Cherry Pretzel Treats for Christmas!
Can you believe that we only have three full weeks until Christmas? Luckily, these are easy peasy, and you can make them in a snap!
Here’s what you’ll need for these Rudolph Chocolate and Cherry Pretzel Treats for Christmas (This makes 1 dozen Rudolph Pretzels)
- about 6 oz. of chocolate melts
- 36 mini pretzel sticks
- candy eyes – (24)
- Maraschino cherries – 1 dozen
Extra Equipment Needed:
- small microwavable proof bowl
- paper towel
- wax paper on a small baking sheet
- more wax paper
- toothpick
Now, onto the fun:
- Start drying the cherries on a paper towel. You’ll want to get the excess moisture off of them
- You’ll want to melt your chocolate melts in the small bowl – fill the bowl up, and pop it in the microwave for 1 minute, stir and throw it in for another 30 seconds
- Stir until smooth
- Grab your baking sheet with wax paper, and get that ready
- One at a time, push 12 pretzels into the chocolate
- pull them up with the fork, tap off excess chocolate
- put them on the wax paper to dry
- Grab your 24 other pretzels, and one at a time, roll them in the chocolate until 3/4 of the pretzels sticks are coated with chocolate
- tap those on the edge of the bowl to get rid of excess chocolate
- place them on the wax paper to dry
- You can pop the baking sheet into the freezer to dry fast
- Once they are nice and cold, take them out
- Place more wax paper down
- For each Rudolph:
- place two 3/4 chocolate sticks in a V
- use a toothpick to dab melted chocolate onto the top of the chocolate pretzels (where the chocolate ends)
- place a fully chocolate covered stick across the V, where the melted chocolate is
- dip the cherry into the chocolate and place it onto the narrow end of the V
- use the toothpick again to make places for the eyes, or dab the backs of them to glue onto the pretzel
- Let the chocolate set up at room temperature
- you can store the Rudolph pretzel treats in an airtight container at room temperature for a day
- After that, you can store them in a cool place for a couple of days
