Ingredients

- Fresh strawberries, stems removed
- Chocolate melts in the following colors: (or whichever you prefer)
- Red
- Bright blue
- Yellow
- Orange
- Lavender
- Granulated sugar (for sparkle)
- Dark green chocolate melts (for the light wire)
- Brown Chocolate Melts (optional) to match the Reese’s and glue it to the strawberry. If you don’t use brown, you might see a bit of contrasting color under the Reese’s, but it’s not a big deal.

Supplies: Fork, paper towel, toothpick, wax paper, microwave-safe bowls, piping bag or plastic sandwich bag, platter
How to Make Strawberry Christmas Lights
Prep the strawberries: Rinse and completely dry the strawberries. I like to wrap them in a paper towel and pat them dry. Remove stems.
Melt the chocolate: Melt each color of chocolate in separate microwave-safe bowls until smooth.
A good system would be to melt one of the colors, dip as many strawberries as you think you’d like for that specific color, and then once you have those done and sprinkled with sugar, repeat with the next.
Dipping the strawberries: Using a fork, dip strawberries in chocolate. Tap fork to remove excess and use a toothpick to slide strawberries onto wax paper.

Add sugar sparkle: Sprinkle granulated sugar over wet chocolate. Allow to set.
Attach Reese’s cups: Melt brown chocolate, dip the flat side of mini Reese’s cups, and attach to strawberry tops.

Create chocolate wire (optional): Melt dark green chocolate, pipe lines or zig-zags onto platter to resemble a wire, and place strawberries along the chocolate lines.
Set and serve: Allow chocolate to fully harden before serving. Store in refrigerator until ready to display.

Expert Tips
Dry strawberries thoroughly: Any moisture will cause chocolate to seize.
Use a fork and toothpick: Helps dip and remove strawberries without smudging.
Reheat chocolate in short bursts: Keeps chocolate smooth and prevents burning.
Display creatively: Use different platter shapes to match your holiday theme.
Work in batches: Keeps chocolate from hardening before dipping all strawberries.
Variations
Different chocolate colors: Use pastel colors or metallic chocolate for a unique look.
Nut toppings: Sprinkle crushed nuts or holiday sprinkles instead of sugar for extra texture.
FAQs
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! Make up to 24 hours in advance and store in the refrigerator. Assemble the chocolate wire right before serving for the best presentation.
Can I use other candies instead of mini Reese’s cups?
Absolutely! Rolos have the same shape, and plant-based Reese’s cups would also work.
How long will they stay fresh?
Stored in the refrigerator, they stay fresh for 2-3 days.
Can I use frozen strawberries?
It’s best to use fresh strawberries; frozen ones release too much moisture and affect the chocolate.
