Thanksgiving Turkey Marshmallow Lollipops

turkey marshmallow pops for Thanksgiving

Turkey Marshmallow Pops for a fun Thanksgiving treat

  • Brown melting chocolate – 12 oz. should make about 1 dozen turkeys
  • square marshmallows – sometimes called campfire marshmallows
  • lollipop sticks
  • whopper candy
  • candy eyes
  • orange M&M or Resee’s candy
  • 5 Candy Corn per turkey
  • Toothpick

  • Melt the chocolate according to the package directions
  • insert lollipop sticks into marshmallows
  • dip the marshmallow into the chocolate – coating all sides
  • set the chocolate covered marshmallow onto wax paper to dry
  • continue with the rest of your marshmallows
  • once the chocolate has started to cool but hasn’t completely firmed up – place a whopper on the middle of the marshmallow’s surface
  • add candy corn all around it – fanning out
  • using your toothpick, add a dot of melted chocolate to the back of the candy eyes
  • hold them onto the whopper candy until they stick without holding
  • let the chocolate completely dry and harden before moving marshmallow pops

How long does chocolate take to harden?

It depends…

chocolate will harden within five minutes at room temperature. A colder room will dry chocolate almost instantly and the refrigerator or freezer will also speed up drying time

Need these to dry fast?

You can speed up the chocolate drying process by setting your turkeys on a wax paper-lined cooking sheet and placing it in the freezer

How many pops can I make?

I think one bag of chocolate melts – which is typically 12 0z. should make 1 dozen

How can I display these pops?

Either lay them on a platter, use Styrofoam to stick lollipop handles into, or a tall glass of rice to stick pops into

If your chocolate dried too fast:

No worries. Use the toothpick to dab melted chocolate onto whatever needs to be glued on and place it
