Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz. of applesauce (about 1/2 of a regular sized applesauce jar)
  • 1 (20 oz.) can of crushed pineapple – undrained
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup of melted butter – unsalted
  • 1&1/2 cup of chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans
  • Topping – whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9 x 13 in. pan
  2. Dump the applesauce and spread out
  3. Dump the crushed pineapple and spread out
  4. Spread 1 package of yellow cake mix over the pineapple
  5. Pour melted butter over the cake mix
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the butter
  7. Do not stir!
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
  9. Serve with a topping of whipped cream

Notes

*Only use 12 oz. of applesauce – about half of a regular sized applesauce jar
