This cute pumpkin spice Scarecrow Fruit Dip is a great way to celebrate fall. Use it as an autumn dessert, a Halloween treat, or a fun Thanksgiving fruit dip.
Fall Fruit Platter
This adorable fruit dip is perfect for fall parties, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. I love to make holiday treats for our family parties. They always bring a smile to family and friends. These Chocolate Covered Strawberry Acorns, Pumpkin Patch Brownies, and Pumpkin Pie Rice Krispies Treats. Scarecrows represent harvest time, so I really think it’s a great idea for a Thanksgiving fruit platter. However you decide to use it, the pumpkin spice fruit dip is easy to make and delicious.
What I love about this Fun Fruit Platter
- It is a simple fall treat.
- There are very few ingredients that you’ll need to make this fall platter, and they are easily found at grocery stores.
- It’s a fun way to bring in fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
Cream Cheese – I like to use 1/3 less fat cream cheese. Cutting out a little bit of fat makes me feel better when I indulge in a yummy dessert, but you can also use original cream cheese. The cream cheese is important for flavor, and also as a thickening agent
Coconut Cream (unsweetened) -You can find this in most baking aisles at your local grocery store. This provides flavor as well as moisture for this dip
Powdered Sugar – This will help sweeten the dip and also thicken it up
Pumpkin Pie Spice – This seasoning really adds the taste of fall to this autumn-inspired fruit dip
Cool Whip – Cool Whip will add sweetness and thicken the dip, as well as add a creamy texture
Fruit – Assorted fruit like grapes, apples, strawberries, orange slices, and blueberries
Cookies – I used Vanilla Wafers along with graham crackers for dipping. You could also add Oreo Cookies or Gingersnap cookies
Decorations
Graham Cracker Squares – These will be used to make the scarecrow’s hat and also something to dip into the fruit dip
Chow Mein Noodles – These are used for the scarecrow’s hair. I think you could also use shredded wheat cereal for the hair
Blueberries – I like the blueberries for the eyes because it has a natural “pupil” – a circle in the middle of the blueberry. I found some beautiful big blueberries that were perfect for the eyes
Candy Corn – Fall and candy corn go hand-in-hand. It makes the perfect nose for this fruit dip
Chocolate Frosting – I used a writing tip to make the scarecrows smile and stitches
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, cream of coconut, sugar, and spices
Use a whisk to briskly mix the ingredients so they are blended together
Fold in the whipped cream
Pour into your serving bowl. I used a white cereal-sized bowl
Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight
When you are almost ready to serve your dip, start adding the decorations
Place your bowl on top of a larger platter
Stack graham crackers so they are level with the bowl – you might have to add one more to make it slightly above the bowl
Slice a couple of graham crackers in half and place them across the bowl as the hat brim – press them gently down so the fruit dip helps hold them in place
Tuck some chow mein noodles under the hat brim – you can break some in half for the shorter bangs
Add blueberry eyes and candy corn nose
Use a piping bag and writing tip to draw a chocolate smile and stitches
Pile fruit and cookies up around the scarecrow dip
