I like a pool of sauce to dip my chicken into. What can I say…I’m saucy. 😉

What is the base for barbecue sauce?

  • Usually, barbecue sauce has a combination of some type of vinegar and a tomato sauce – usually ketchup, then spices, other liquids, and sometimes sugars are added in for flavor

What can I use instead of brown sugar in barbecue sauce?

  • In place of brown sugar, honey and syrup can be substituted in barbecue sauce

How long will Homemade Barbecue Sauce Last?

  • Up to two weeks. Vinegar is a natural preservative that helps prolong the life of barbecue sauce. You should keep your sauce covered and stored in the refrigerator
