  • 1&1/2 cups of ketchup
  • 1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar – dark is fine, too
  • 3 Tblsp. Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 3 Tblsp. of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1&1/2 tsp. of paprika – I used Spanish, it has a little smoke flavor, but you can use regular paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. of mustard powder
  • 3/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 cup of water

Ingredients

  • 1&1/2 cups ketchup
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed – you can also use dark
  • 3 tbsp. Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 3 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1&1/2 tsp. paprika – I used Spanish. It has a little smoke flavor, but you can use regular paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. mustard powder
  • ¾ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. celery seed
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  • Using a large saucepan, add everything into the pan
  • Set the heat to med/high and get it boiling while stirring
  • Lower the heat, and simmer until it thickens up a bit
  • That’s it! Let it cool off a bit before you baste your meat

Notes

When stored properly – covered and refrigerated – your sauce should last up to 2 weeks
